“Who is Spector”? That’s the nickname of Lyle Richardson, who started this site in September 1998 which he continues to maintain with the assistance (since 2007) of CompuSol. A former member of the Canadian Forces for 25 years and an NHL fan since 1970, Mr. Richardson is also a free-lance writer on the NHL for Foxsports.com, The Hockey News Online and Eishockey News. He resides in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. “Where do you get your trade and free agent information?” It’s culled from various media sources in every NHL city and elsewhere. “Do you get information from other sources?” Yes, but unless the information comes from a legitimate media source or team/league executives willing to be quoted on the record, it’s not published here. Only verifiable information is posted on this site. “Is trade and free agent rumors all you cover?” No, analysis of NHL news is covered in the “Soapbox”, Spector’s blog, as well as in the Foxsports.com column, links to which can be found on the left under the ‘main menu’. “Do you have a forum for hockey fans to discuss/debate hockey news with other fans?” Yes, it can be found in the main menu by clicking the link called “The Fans Speak Out”, which will take you to Spector’s message board. “Does it cost anything to join the forum?” No, it’s free. “Do you charge your readers to access your site?” No. “What’s with the ads on your site?” Those ads pay the bills, which in turn keeps this site going without having to resort to turning this into a pay site or staging “beg-a-thons”. “How do I reach you if I have a question or complaint about the content on this site?” Use the “Contact” link (found in the main menu). |
