BOSTON HERALD: Jarome Iginla scored twice in the third period as the Boston Bruins won their twelfth-straight game by downing the Phoenix Coyotes 4-2.
PHILLY.COM: Claude Giroux, Brayden Schenn, Wayne Simmonds, Scott Hartnell and Jakub Voracek had two-point performances as the Flyers downed the St. Louis Blues 4-1. The Flyers also re-signed forward Michael Raffl to a two-year. $2.2 million contract.
LOS ANGELES TIMES: Jonathan Quick passed Rogie Vachon for most wins by a Kings goalie (172) backstopping his club to a 4-0 victory over the Florida Panthers.
PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE: James Neal’s overtime goal lifted the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: Henrik Lundqvist reached another milestone with his career-and franchise-best 50th shutout as the NY Rangers blanked the New Jersey Devils 2-0.
DETROIT NEWS: Gustav Nyquist’s third-period goal snapped a 2-2 tie to give the Detroit Red Wings a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild.
WASHINGTON POST: Nicklas Backstrom’s shootout goal lifted the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks, the first time the Capitals won a game in San Jose in over 20 years.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Despite their loss to the Flyers, the Blues became the second NHL team to clinch a playoff berth. The Red Wings and Capitals are tied with 79 points, with the Wings holding onto the final wild card berth in the East owing to games-played (they hold two in hand over the Capitals). Despite the Wild and Coyotes losses they still hold the wild card berths in the Western Conference.
