Sucks to be an Islanders fan,2 backup goaltenders and who?? Is Garth on vacation?

And who? T.J. Brennan could end up being the steal of the free agency day. 25 year old defenseman with good size, former 2nd round pick, had troubles finding a spot but last year exploded. He was named the AHL defenseman of the year and managed 25g and 72pts in 76 games playing in the American Hockey League. Will get a shot to translate that onto the Islanders defense as a good puck moving D, I personally think he could be a solid 30-40 point puck mover in the NHL.

Halak is NOT a back up goalie. He is good, not great, but VERY solid.

He will do well for the Islanders.

      • JJB says:

Chad Johnson is also one of the better back ups in the league with massive starter potential. Sorry, the Islanders may have not gotten any power house up front and they are still likely a bad team, but they made very good signings for what they did do.

    AGAIN, and who?

  3. gameon63 says:

the biggest problem with the Islanders is the former backup goalie they’ve got masquerading as the GM if they were to replace him with someone competent they’d do ok. in spite of Snow they still have a lot of good young players and a full year of Tavares with decent goaltending should all but guarantee a playoff spot. if Dal Colle makes the team the talent level will be that much higher but as it is there’s still a lot of talent in the minors that ensures a brighter future is not that far off.
