TSN’s Darren Dreger reports via Twitter the New York Rangers have signed UFA center Jason Arnott to a one-year contact worth around $1.6-$1.7 million.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Arnott, 38, was among the few decent UFAs still available in the free agent market. Though no longer the power-forward he once was, Arnott is still respected for his leadership and experience. He’ll likely see work as a checking line center. His salary will also fit easily on the Rangers payroll for this season.
**UPDATE** The contract between Arnott and the Rangers has been nullified as he failed the team medical.

This is a good signing. He’s still a decent hockey player and adds depth to a good lineup.
very good signing for rangers
