Emery will return to Blackhawks next season.

Various sources report the Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed goaltender Ray Emery to a one-year, $1.15 million contract extension. Emery, 29, was eligible for UFA status on July 1st. He has a 15-9-4 record with a 2.81 GAA this season.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Emery fit well with the Blackhawks as Corey Crawford’s backup, earning praise from throughout the organization for his performance, especially when Crawford struggled at times this season. A good, affordable re-signing by the ‘Hawks.
