Jackets re-sign Foligno.

TSN’s Darren Dreger reports the Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed recently-acquired forward Nick Foligno to a three year contract with an average annual cap hit of “around $3 million”.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: That’s a significant raise for Foligno, coming off a two-year deal which paid him $1.2 million per season, and a career-best 47 point performance last season. Having recently acquired him from the Senators, the Blue Jackets are betting he’s poised to become a quality top-six forward. At 24, he still has time to develop, but the Senators parted with him because they grew impatient with him. Time will tell if the Blue Jackets will be rewarded.

One Response to Blue Jackets re-sign Foligno.

  1. Ranzeir says:

Foligno at only 24 still has lot’s of upside. At times he looked like the perfect power forward but at other times he would disappear for long stretches. Hopefully he can become a more consistent player in Columbus.
