The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed forward Mark Letestu to a two-year, $2.5 million contract extension.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: The deal is worth an average cap hit of $1.25 million per season, doubling his annual salary under his current contract. It’s well worth it, as Letestu has emerged as one of the Blue Jackets leaders and best scorers. He was eligible for UFA status this summer but obviously wants to stick with the Blue Jackets and help in their building process. With 20 points in 34 games, he’s on pace to break his career best of 27 points set two years ago with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
