Bruins sign Boychuk to 3-year extension.

Various sources reports the Boston Bruins have re-signed defenseman Johnny Boychuk to a three-year, $10.8 million contract extension. The average annual cap hit is $3.36 million per season.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Bang goes the rumors of the Bruins swapping Boychuk for a scoring winger. It’s obvious management thinks highly of Boychuk’s defensive contributions and wish to keep him in the fold. He was eligible for UFA status this summer but it’s clear he wanted nothing to do with this summer’s free agent market. A good move by both sides.

Can you say… sign & trade! Sounds that way to me… to close to the trade deadline to sign a UFA (Odd timing thats all)

Was looking forward to seeing Boychuk hit the market this summer. This is a good deal.
