Turco signed by Bruins for remainder of regular season.

The Boston Bruins announced the signing of UFA goaltender Marty Turco to a one-year contract. Financial terms weren’t disclosed, but the deal is reportedly worth a pro-rated $600K.

Turco must first clear waivers before joining the Bruins, and if he does clear waivers, wouldn’t be eligible to play in the 2012 playoffs for the Bruins, as he’s joining the team following the trade deadline.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: This move was made owing to the recent groin injury suffered by Tuukka Rask over the weekend, sidelining him for 4-6 weeks.

Plugging the hole while Rask is out. Gives Thomas a couple nights off heading into the playoffs. Solid move, hope no one claims him
