Former NHL star Gary Roberts shares some training tips, Jets captain Andrew Ladd ties the knot, and find out where Carey Price rates among Puck Daddy’s top goalies.
TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS.
TORONTO STAR: Dave Feschuk recently reported former Maple Leaf forward Gary Roberts has become a sought-after training and conditioning coach for hockey players since retiring from the NHL in 2009. Roberts also listed flat barbell bench presses, leg presses and biceps curls among his three “Weight room no-nos” for hockey players.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Feschuk’s interview with Roberts is a fascinating look into what led the one-time NHL star down the path toward proper training and nutrition, as well as what it takes for today’s NHL players to stay in game shape, especially during the off-season.
WINNIPEG SUN: Jillian Austin reported Jets captain Andrew Ladd is off the singles market, marrying his fiancee, Brandy, in a Vegas ceremony on July 17th. The Ladds honeymooned in Bora Bora.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Best wishes to the Ladds for a long, happy, healthy life together.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Price came fifth overall, and comes in above several notable netminders. I won’t spoil the fun as to who ranks above or below Price, just head on over to Puck Daddy and join the fun. I will say that I agree with Price’s placement.
