Price gets 6 year extension with Habs.

The Montreal Canadiens have announced the re-signing of goaltender Carey Price to a six-year, $39 million contract, for an average annual cap hit of $6.5 million.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: As expected, Price cashed in with a significant raise for a lengthy tenure. His critics will argue he’s not worth that much, but there’s no doubt Price was the Habs best player the past two seasons, and was paid accordingly. If he continues his strong play, this contract will be well worth it. Next up for the Habs: RFA blueliner P.K.Subban.

Wow… Did we just overpay Price by about 1.5M a year? He’s now the 3rd highest paid goalie in the league.

I wish he had top 3 numbers to go with that salary.
