Sportsnet reports the Vancouver Canucks have acquired Samuel Pahlsson from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Canucks have given up a player (not expected to be a roster player) and draft picks.
**UPDATE** The return for the Blue Jackets is two fourth round picks in 2012 and minor league defenseman Taylor Ellington.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Not surprising that Canucks GM Mike Gillis continues to build up the depth on his checking lines. Pahlsson is a good checking center, who was nominated for the Selke trophy in 2007 as the league’s top defensive forward. He was also a key part of the Ducks championship run in 2007, and brings that experience to the Canucks.
