Chris Higgins re-signs a 4-year deal with the Canucks.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Higgins, 29, was eligible for unrestricted free agency this summer, but has found a home with the Canucks. Last season was his best, with 43 points in 71 games. He’s become a key member of their checking lines, so it’s no surprise he was re-signed. His new contract is worth an average annual salary of $2.5 million, a nice raise over the $1.9 million per season of his current deal.

Great to she Highly get recognized for his hard work. He has become a very valuable member of the team, a heart and soul guy, he and Hansen are two of the best checking forwards on the team.

Higgins has been great along the boards, getting his nose dirty and winning puck battles. Appears to be low maintenance. Yep, a heart and soul guy. A good signing.
