Coyotes re-sign Boedker.

Various sources report the Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed winger Mikkel Boedker to a two-year contract. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Boedker earned a cap hit of $1.725 million per season on his entry level contract.

**UPDATE** TSN’s Bob McKenzie reports Boedker’s new contract will be worth an average cap hit of $1.1 million per season. That seems lower, but most likely would be considered a raise, as his base salary and signing bonuses combined were $962.5K per season under his entry level deal, and he likely didn’t reach all or most of his performance bonuses.

  1. I think a good pickup for the Yotes would be Steve Bernier – he’s physical, can score points albeit assists and/or goals and also fits well on a checking line. He made $2MM last year, but I think he can be picked up in the $1MM range and he’s only 26.

  2. bernier has upside but he doesnt have the drive or motivation. he shows up to camps out of shape and doesnt work out a whole lot in the offseason
