SPECTOR’S NOTE: Barch played one season with the Panthers (2011-12) before inking a two-year contract as a free agent with the Devils. He’ll provide an extra measure of toughness for the Panthers at an affordable price $750K. Timmons is a minor league winger. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said the deal was done to reduce the roster down to the league mandated limit of 23 and isn’t concerned that this move could adversely affect his club’s toughness.

  1. TMLbranded says:

The Bruins goon squad winning the cup started a heavyweight arms race in the Northeast. Leafs added McClaren to Orr, Ottawa traded for Kassian, Montreal got Parros and Prust, Sabres have Scott and mouths of Kaleta/Ott. With reallignment, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tampa and Detroit bring in some more size/fisticuffs
