Various sources report the Anaheim Ducks have claimed forward Niklas Hagman off re-entry waivers from the Calgary Flames. The remainder of his $3 million salary for this season will be divided between the Ducks and Flames, with his salary now counting as $1.5 million against the Flames cap, and $1.5 million against the Ducks.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: To be honest, I didn’t expect him to be claimed, which apparently indicates how dire things may be offensively for the Ducks at this point this season. It clears up an additional $1.5 million cap space for the Flames, which could perhaps be used later in the season to add to their roster depth.

Hey look Murray is still alive, well sort of
Look out Columbus were coming after you for the first overall pick
Hagman is a good player. AND you’ll have a hard time finding anyone on the Ducks roster who put in a consistant effort like he does.
I wish him well, and better linemates.
I like the move. At $1.5 mil and maybe better line mates maybe Hags can find another 20g season in him. He had 1g 3a 4pt in 8g this year, wasn’t playing all that badly. I think a 15-20g 40p season could be had if he is rejuvenated in Anaheim.
Hagman – Koivu – Selanne
Isn’t one of the Finnish lines from the Olympics? lol
And didn’t the Fins finish 3rd?
That could have something to do with it
