Ducks sign Allen.

Allen a Duck.

The Anaheim Ducks have reportedly signed former Hurricanes defenseman Bryan Allen to a three-year contract.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: You’ll recall Allen was among a trio of Hurricanes defensemen who were floated as available on the trade market prior to the trade deadline, but ultimately the Hurricanes retained him in hopes of possibly re-signing him. That evidently didn’t work out, and Allen will go on to replace the departed Sheldon Brookbank on the Ducks defense.

**UPDATE**: Allen will earn $3.5 million per season, a good bump up from the $2.9 million per he earned on his previous deal.
