Flyers sign Hal Gill to one-year deal.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Gill had a training camp tryout with the Flyers, playing well enough to earn a one-year deal worth considerably less than the $2 million per season of his last contract, though he received a buyout from the Predators this summer.

The 38-year-old blueliner played 32 games last season with the Predators. Some critics might question the addition of an ageing, slow-footed blueliner, but Gill’s experience and leadership could prove invaluable for a defense corps still struggling with the long-term absence of Chris Pronger.

  2. At 700k, he’s our 7th-8th dman.
The more I think about it, the more I like the signing.

I’ll take Hal Gill over Bruno Gervais any day of the week.

    • Im just razing you guys, It is cheap I will say that, could be decent in spots as long as he dosent get too much playing time.

  3. Gill should help the penalty kill with his reach and positioning if nothing else.

  4. Welcome Hal…….We need some spunk on this DDD. Good Man!
