Flyers re-sign Hartnell.

Hartnell inks contract extension with Flyers.

The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed forward Scott Hartnell to a six-year contract extension believed worth an average annual cap hit of $4.75 million. The 30-year-old Hartnell has one season remaining on his current contract worth $3.2 million, though the cap hit (as the deal was front-loaded) is $4.2 million.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: An affordable and fair signing by the Flyers. Hartnell has become among the Flyers most invaluable players, as well as one of their most popular. Last season saw him reach career bests in goals (37) and points (67).

  1. Yes, nice deal for both sides. He put up career offensive numbers last year, but he brings a hell of a lot more than offense to the table. As a Flyers fan, I’m very happy with this deal.

  2. What a joke!

  3. Hasn’t every extansion since owners CBA proposal been a violation if their proposal would now be in effect? Isn’t that wierd? 6 yrs deals, 14!!! and frontloaded contracts…

  4. Good deal for the Flyers.
