The Carolina Hurricanes have signed former Thrashers/Jets forward Anthony Stewart to a two-year, $1.8 million contract.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The deal pays him $800K next season and $1 million in 2012-13. He had 14 goals and 39 points last season, and while he’s not the same player as the departed Erik Cole, should prove a good addition to their checking lines who can chip in offensively.

I think this is a very nice signing. This kid works very hard and should be a steal at 1.8 over 2 years.
