The New York Islanders have avoided salary arbitration with winger Blake Comeau, re-signing him to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Comeau was the last player awaiting arbitration this summer. He was also the subject of some trade speculation, but it appears, for the time being, he’s not going anywhere. And if he has another strong performance this season, you can bet the Isles will try to keep him around longer.
