The Winnipeg Jets have acquired left wing Eric Tangradi from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a seventh round pick in 2013.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Jets were seeking depth at forward, and Tangradi needed a change of scenery as he struggled to earn a regular spot with the Penguins over the past two seasons. He only played five games earlier this season and spent the rest as a healthy scratch. I don’t think Tangradi will provide the offensive boost the Jets need right now, but he has good size (6-4, 221) and could eventually blossom with time into an NHL regular.
