Kovalev, Sopel bound for KHL.
Various sources reports former NHL defenseman Brent Sopel has signed a two-year contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk of the KHL, while the Russian paper Sports Express reported veteran forward Alex Kovalev is set to sign a two-year deal with Atlant Mytishchi.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Expect more unsigned NHL UFAs to head to the KHL, or other European leagues, in the coming weeks.
Sounds like good riddance to me.
