Having re-signed goaltender Corey Crawford, find out what else might be in store for the Blackhawks this summer.

CHICAGO DAILY HERALD: Tim Sassone reports Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman, having re-signed restricted free agent Corey Crawford, can now focus on what to do with their other restricted free agents, including Michael Frolik, Chris Campoli, Troy Brouwer, Jake Dowell and Viktor Stalberg. As for unrestricted free agents, it appears likely Bowman won’t re-sign Marty Turco, Tomas Kopecky, Fernando Pisani and Jordan Hendry.

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: Adam L. Jahns reports Bowman hasn’t had any discussions with Turco, and is planning to have goalie Alexander Salak, who was part of the deal for Frolik, play in North America next season. Jahns also reports Frolik and Campoli are next on Bowman’s list of contract talks.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Blackhawks now have over $53.6 million invested in fifteen players for next season, and to re-sign Frolik and Campoli, they’ll need the cap to increase by $3 million. I don’t expect Turco, Kopecky, Pisani and Hendry to return, but I do think they’ll re-sign all their RFAs and fill any remaining roster holes via call-ups or affordable free agent signings. I don’t anticipate the Blackhawks making any expensive UFA signings or salary dumping trades this summer.

  1. one hopes crawford continues to play that that, however time and time again were seeing a contract year look great followed by you guessed it…
I see them having issues signing both campoli and frolik and i see campoli being dealt, good destination for him would be like a younger squad like the oilers ..

im curious as to what they would do with there pick rather draft or trading it what do you guys think

  2. There are certainly some interesting options for the Haws this coming off season. I agree with who will be kept and who will likely not be staying.
I wonder if the Hawks may look at Montreal as a trade partner and move Troy Brower for Pouliot and Picard and perhaps a draft pick switching hands, all of these are RFA’s.

I also wonder if the Kings would entertain taking on a contract for picks and perhaps a prospect like Campbell for say Ryan smyth as the cap hit will be reduced and then the Hawks won’t be handcuffed by this contract, i do acknowledge that perhaps another play maybe involved but as a starting point, wonder if they would consider it?

The flyers will need to move a roster player not named Hartnell if the believe they will get a solid goalie. I laugh at the last 20 yrs, the flyers keep thinking the rest of the GM are so stupid. They will not get a goalie unless you pay the price for one! Period!!!!!!!

  3. So Chicago gets bounced in the first round and they’re not going to do anything to improve?
