NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: NY Rangers star Rick Nash removed himself from HC Davos game yesterday as a precaution after suffering a shoulder injury. He reportedly didn’t suffer a head injury on the play. He is expected to be re-evaluated today.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Rangers and their fans will be hoping Nash’s injury isn’t serious, especially if a resolution to the NHL lockout occurs in the coming weeks.

SPORTING NEWS: NY Islanders star John Tavares has signed with Bern of the Swiss League.

WINNIPEG FREE PRESS: Evander Kane became the first Canadian-born member of the Jets to head to Europe, signing a contract with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL.

TSN.CA: Hockey Canada has finally agreed to allow Edmonton Oilers prospect Nail Yakupov to play in the KHL.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: I guess Hockey Canada decided it didn’t need the negative publicity.
