Latest on the Jets, Canucks and Canadiens – September 6, 2011.

One final piece of the puzzle for the Jets upcoming season will be unveiled today…the date of sale for Canucks pre-season tickets is announced…An Ontario town will honor a Canadiens legend.

WINNIPEG JETS.

WINNIPEG SUN (VIA TORONTO SUN): reports the Jets will be unveiling their home and away jerseys today at 11 am CT at 17 Wing base in Winnipeg.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Has any jersey launch met with so much attention? Hey, it’s understandable, it’s Winnipeg, they’re getting their NHL team  back, and anything to do with the Jets is newsworthy in that town. I can well imagine the crowds at their training camp scrimmages next week.

VANCOUVER CANUCKS.

VANCOUVER SUN: reports the Canucks yesterday announced pre-season tickets will go on sale Saturday at 10 am PT for home games against the Calgary Flames, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Edmonton Oilers.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Too bad there weren’t a pre-season game against the Boston Bruins…;)

MONTREAL CANADIENS.

FACEOFF.COM: Red Fisher of the Montreal Gazette reports the town of Conison, Ontario, will honor former Montreal Canadiens legendary player and coach Hector “Toe” Blake by renaming their arena in his honor. Blake played his youth hockey in Coniston.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: For those of you who don’t know about Blake and his importance to the Canadiens, follow this link.

  1. I pity anyone dumb enough to wear an Atlanta Thrashers jersey in Winnipeg. The local yokels will be sure to show him just how assy they can be. :/

  2. Why on earth? Winnipeg fans are grateful that Atlanta never supported their team and they ended up the beneficiaries when the team was moved.

Bigger pity to wear a Jets jersey in Atlanta.

The “good ol boys” who never showed up as fans would certainly show their own version of “ass”!
