Leafs re-sign Kulemin, Oilers re-up Gagner.

Gagner, Kulemin avoid arbitration with their respective clubs.

TSN’s Darren Dreger reports via Twitter the Toronto Maple Leafs have avoided salary arbitration with forward Nikolai Kulemin  and re-signed him to a two year deal worth “$2.6 is 1st year and $3 mil in 2nd for $2.8 aav with Leafs.”

Dreger also reports the Edmonton Oilers have avoided arbitration with center Sam Gagner, re-signing him to a one-year, $3.2 million contract.

    Gagner is a good player and this is a good contract. I feel that he will be dealt this season at the deadline (or before).

  2. Gagner good signing, agree he isn’t going to finish this contract in Edmonton, I don’t know why a team like Chicago hasn’t picked him up. Good second line center who could fill in on a temp basis on first line.
    Kulimen decent signing I wasn’t expecting a raise but I guess it goes with salaries in general increasing. He may also not finish the contract with the leafs. They have an excess amount of forwards especially since Kadri, Ashton and colborne should be given a legit shot at playing this year.

  3. I see Gagner in Chicago eventually as well. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened to this point. He would fill their need as second line center and be a good fit with Kane.
