The Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt a fourth round pick in 2013 to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Ryan O’Byrne.

O'Byrne joins the Maple Leafs.

O’Byrne joins the Maple Leafs.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Meet the guy who replaces Mike Komisarek. O’Byrne (6-5, 240), is considered a rugged second-pairing blueliner who provides size and physicality on the Leafs blueline. He’s also signed through 2013-14 at an affordable cap hit of $1.8 million. Should be a good, affordable pickup for the Leafs.
