An illustrated guide to the first round of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs, preview and prediction of the Blues-Kings series, a Canucks fan apologizes to Roberto Luongo, five players who need to step up their play, reviewing the hit on Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, and Marcel Pronovost’s life in hockey.
PUCK DADDY: Greg Wyshynski presents an illustrated guide to the wacky first round of this year’s NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.
THE SPORTS BANK.NET: Ed Cmar with his preview and prediction of the Kings-Blues series. Missed posting it up prior to Game One last night, so the fault is mine, not his.
ST. LOUIS GAME TIME: “hildymac” has few kind words to say about the official explanation for why an obvious boarding call on Alex Pietrangelo by Kings forward Dwight King didn’t result in more than a 2 minute minor. Pietrangelo missed the rest of Game One and is questionable for Game Two with an apparent head injury suffered from that hit.
NUCKS MISCONDUCT: A Canucks fan apologizes to Roberto Luongo for all he’s done for the club in his six seasons, and chastises fellow Canucks fans for their lack of appreciation and willingness to get “Bobby Lu” the bum’s rush. There’s an old saying, “you don’t what you’ve got until it’s gone”. Canucks fans who’ve been unappreciative of Luongo’s contributions to their team might feel that way in a few years time, and come to regret the shabby way they’ve treated him in recent years.
RED LIGHT DISTRICT HOCKEY BLOG: Ryan Porth lists five players who need to step up their performance in this year’s playoffs. I concur with his pick at number one. We’re looking at you, Marian Gaborik!
GREATEST HOCKEY LEGENDS: Joe Pelletier reports Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Marcel Pronovost is releasing his autobiography.
