More CBA commentaries, Michal Neuvirth makes some controversial remarks, the trials of former NHL’er Mike Danton, and more.

OFFSIDE: A SPORTS HOCKEY BLOG: Eric Macramalla observes the NHLPA’s change of strategy in its recent Twitter posts. Maybe the gloves are coming off?

BACKHAND SHELF: Justin Bourne agrees NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is a manipulative weasel, but in a smart, business-like fashion which suits the NHL team owners. Kinda like Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, but less cartoonish.

SBNATION: Mike Chen with 8 very sensible points toward an NHL CBA compromise. One can only hope some of these points ultimately end up in a new CBA, and in time to avoid a work stopppage.

HOCKEYBUZZ: Dee Karl is taking only one side in the NHL CBA talks: the fans.

ON FROZEN BLOG: Mike Rucki just wants the two sides to work out an agreement and drop the damned puck already!

FIRST ROUND BUST: Nathan Wells lists five teams which stand to lose the most from an NHL lockout. The Stanley Cup champion LA Kings are among them.

Neuvirth has got some ‘splain’ to do.

RUSSIAN MACHINE NEVER BREAKS: Peter Hassett links to an interview given by Washington Capitals goalie Michal Neuvirth to a Czech news outlet in which he has some outspoken things to say about Alexander Ovechkin, former coach Dale Hunter, and playoff hero Braden Holtby. Expect the “I was misquoted” follow-up anytime now…

THE STRANGEST ONE OF ALL: Scotty Wazz suggests Neuvirth should back up his big talk with big results. In other words, if he did talk the talk, he’d better walk the walk. And no, Ric Flair is not the originator of that quote.

ST. LOUIS GAME TIME: The trials and redemption of former Blues forward Mike Danton in his quest to continue playing pro hockey.

DOWN GOES BROWN: brings a little levity to the serious CBA talks with “What the NHL can learn from the NBA and NFL lockouts”
