BACKHAND SHELF: Ellen Etchingham’s latest  is titled “Taking Sides”, which she describes as “a defense of fan support for the PA and of being unrealistic about CBA negotiations.” Read and learn, gang. “Double E” is one of the best hockey bloggers around.

DEFENDING BIG D: Brandon Worley suggests the future vis NHL CBA talks isn’t as bleak as we’ve been led to believe, especially when one considers how bitter the last NHL CBA negotiations in 2004-05 were.

WINGING IT IN MOTOWN: “JJ from Kansas” on the NHL CBA PR battle.

CANUCKS CORNER: Tom Benjamin suggests the players has three options – fold and ratify another CBA forced down their throats, fight another long labor battle, or decertify.

SECTION 303: Jeremy K. Glover believes not many Nashville Predators players will be headed to Europe in the event of a lockout. If more leagues follow the Swedish Elite League and refuse to sign players unless it’s for one-year deals with no escape clauses, the options will be few and far between.

MILE HIGH HOCKEY: David Driscoll-Carignan lists several notable milestones this season for the Colorado Avalanche, provided there’s no lockout, of course.

THE CHECKING LINE: Angelica Rodriguez on whether or not age matters when it comes to leadership for the NY Islanders.

LIGHTHOUSE HOCKEY: A satirical clarification of Gary Bettman’s “greatest fans” statement. Hey, if you can’t have a laugh or two during these CBA negotiations, you’d snap!

THE STRANGEST ONE OF ALL: Scotty Wazz with your Monday installment of “Absurd Goalie Monday”. This week: George Gardner.
