NBC SPORTS: Vancouver Canucks goalie Jacob Markstrom denied a report claiming he requested a trade after the club signed Ryan Miller earlier this month.  As Markstrom isn’t exempt from waivers, the Canucks could be forced to trade him before the start of next season.

TORONTO SUN: New Maple Leafs forward Mike Santorelli prefers to play center but will accept any position at forward this coming season.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: David Staples notes Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Johnny Oduya is on the trade block and believes he’d be a good fit with the Oilers.

OTTAWA SUN: The Senators avoided arbitration with Derek Grant by re-signing him to a one-year, two-way contract.

WINNIPEG SUN: Jets prospect Nikolaj Ehlers is enjoying his first NHL prospects camp.

CALGARY SUN: Flames prospect Bryce Van Brabant will be training with fitness coach and former NHL star Gary Roberts.
