TORONTO SUN: The Maple Leafs have signed former Anaheim Ducks forward Daniel Winnik to a one-year, $1.3 million contract. Winnik called joining the Leafs a “dream come true”.

CALGARY HERALD: The Flames have hired Todd Gill to coach their farm team in Adirondack.

OTTAWA SUN: Senators goalie coach Rick Wamsley suffered a close call as his neighbor’s home recently caught fire.

HAMILTONBULLDOGS.COM: The Bulldogs (farm team of the Montreal Canadiens) have signed Jake Dowell to a one-year AHL contract.
