NHL Canadian Corner – June 19, 2012.

The latest on Erik Karlsson, Cory Schneider, and Jordan Eberle, plus updates on the Canadiens and Jets.

OTTAWA CITIZEN: Senators GM Bryan Murray said if Erik Karlsson should win the Norris Trophy, it won’t have any impact upon his contract negotiations.

VANCOUVER PROVINCE: The Canucks made qualifying offers to three restricted free agents, the most notable being goaltender Cory Schneider.

Eberle is among this year’s nominees for the Lady Byng trophy.

EDMONTON SUN: Jordan Eberle credits an improvement in his defensive game as a significant factor in his nomination for the Lady Byng trophy.

CANOE.CA: Connecticut Whale assistant coach J.J. Daigeault denied rumors he’d been in talks with the Montreal Canadiens regarding an assistant coach position.

WINNIPEG SUN: Like several other NHL teams, the Jets have released their pre-season schedule. Wishful thinking in the face of a possible CBA lockout? Or confidence the season won’t be affected by CBA negotiations? You make the call!
