Canucks fall to the Wild, Carey Price and Dave Bolland sidelined for tonight’s Canadiens-Leafs game, plus updates on Ondrej Pavelec, Nail Yakupov, Chris Neil and Chris Butler.

VANCOUVER PROVINCE: Justin Fontaine’s shootout goal lifted the Minnesota Wild to a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks, Ryan Kesler, the recent subject of trade rumors,  tallied the Canucks only goal.

LA PRESSE: Carey Price (lower body) will miss his third straight game when the Montreal Canadiens meet the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight. Price is making progress and will travel with the Habs during their upcoming Western road trip.

TORONTO SUN: Maple Leafs center Dave Bolland (ankle tendon) will also miss tonight’s Leafs-Canadiens game.

WINNIPEG FREE PRESS: Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec isn’t feeling the love from Winnipeg fans even when he’s playing well.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Play well more often, Ondrej, and the fans will love you more.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: Oilers winger Nail Yakupov didn’t suffer any broken bones when he took a shot off his right foot during a recent game.

OTTAWA SUN: Senators tough guy Chris Neil didn’t take kindly to Detroit’s Johan Franzen’s criticism of his effort during the Wings’ recent 6-1 blowout of the Senators. “I’m there first shift and any shift he wants,” said Neil. “He wants to drop his purse, take the lipstick out, put it on his lips and ‘Let’s go.’ Anytime. Any day. Anywhere.”

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Does Neil want to fight Franzen or give him a kiss?

CALGARY SUN: Flames defenseman Chris Butler (upper body) will miss tonight’s “Battle of Alberta” against the Edmonton Oilers.

NHL tough guys need to take some lessons on intimidation, Chris neals bizarre fantasy of seeing Franzen in drag and the whole “Princess Phaneuf” thing is not really scaring or inspiring of any serious retribution, it just makes them look like half whits. What ever happened to the grest trash talkers like Chelios Roenick Domi Roy Pronger Barnaby May ect….Todays chirping is uninspiring lol
