CALGARY HERALD: Shea Weber scored twice as the Nashville Predators downed the Calgary Flames 5-4. Mike Cammalleri scored twice for the Flames. Both clubs pulled their starting goalie in this one.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Despite the win, the Predators remain nine points out of playoff contention. The Flames remain four points up on the dead-last Oilers.

EDMONTON SUN: Jordan Eberle says his knee feels better and he could be in the lineup when the Oilers face the Flames tonight.

TORONTO STAR: Dave Bolland is expected to return to the Maple Leafs lineup tonight when they face the Montreal Canadiens. Goalie Jonathan Bernier (groin injury) is also poised to return.

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Gritty Canadian forward Brandon Prust (upper-body injury) will miss the remainder of the regular season but could return for the playoffs.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Prust is a physical spark-plug player but his style often leads to injury. He already missed 19 games this season.

OTTAWA CITIZEN: Rookie defenseman Cody Ceci is among the few bright spots in a rapidly-worsening season for the Senators.

VANCOUVER SUN: Cam Cole doesn’t want Canucks fans to get their hopes up over the club’s recent improvement. He believes they’ll still miss the playoffs.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Canucks enter this weekend five points out of a playoff berth. While a late rally isn’t out of the question, it appears unlikely.

WINNIPEG FREE PRESS:  Over 96 percent of Jets season ticket holders have renewed their subscriptions.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Jets fans are doing their part. It’s now up to the Jets to do theirs and give their fans something worth cheering for.
