  1. Torornto Maple Leafs

Players I would make room for this season

    Carter Ashton
    Jamie Devane
    Morgan Rielly

PLAYERS THAT HAVE TO GO for various reasons money and to create roster spaces for above players .

    J M Liles
    Fraser Mclaren or Colton Orr
    Joe Colbourne
    Korbinian Holzer
    and regreatably …..Nikolai Kulimen !

    • Saw the game and aside from being impressed with Raymond – I liked what Carter Ashton brought to the table and hey I’m a Bflo fan. It was a fun game, especially the shootout and I don’t think anyone watching was shortchanged.

      • Was not a Carter Ashton fan last year , but he is knocking at the door and just seems to have this attitude that he will not be denied this year , really picked up his physical game and plays smart aggressive hockey all around and goes to the net hard …no wimpy in this kid !!
Joe Colbourne take notes it might help your game !!

  2. there’s a lot of doom & gloom postings on the internet about the Canucks chances this year based on a few preseason games so let’s get a few things straight. first of all it’s preseason and the games don’t mean anything so Tortorella is dressing rookie heavy lineups so he can see what the kids can do, when you’re playing essentially what would be an AHL team against an NHL team the results are fairly predictable. the Vancouver players are learning a new system that’s being implemented by Tortorella and there have been some growing pains. now some of the positives aside from Booth (sigh) the injuries so far have been to rookies who may not even be in the opening day lineup, why risk a veteran player who’s part of your core in a mean nothing game when you already know what they can do? the goaltending has gotten a good look and Eddie Lack has looked good. it’s important to note that these mean nothing games also give Tortorella a chance to work the bugs out of his system as it relates to what the Canucks players are capable of doing. i’m sure as we get closer to the regular season we’ll start seeing more of the players who will make up the team this year but there have been a few glimpses of what we can expect from players like Shinkaruk, Horvat, and Gaunce. on the other hand Edmonton won a mean nothing game but lost Gagner and further depleted their already perilous lack of depth at center (with Gagner & Nugent-Hopkins not able to play and Horcoff traded to Dallas in the offseason coverted winger Taylor Hall is now their top centre), as Vancouver learned last year with injuries to Kesler & Malhotra it’s a critical position and Edmonton doesn’t have the depth at centre in their organization that Vancouver does.

    • I really hate to say this …I love the Sedins they are UNREAL …but I just don’t see it with them …they are GREAT regular season players but from the heat of the kitchen into the heat of the oven of the playoffs they just don’t have it to make that extra step to hoist the cup !!

I love the draft picks ..stars in the Making Shinkaruk & Horvat look to be top notch prospects and could very well see time.

I see the Oilers getting pushed around this year yet again ….when teams figure out all you have to do is take the body on these guys all game it will catch like wild fire and Hall and Eberle and Hopkins will be injury riddles there whole career …they need some beef upfront …way too many finesse players no protection …and we all know what happened to Sydney Crosby when you have no protection …teams take advantage EVERY NIGHT and crush your star players …I am still surprised Pitt hasn’t given him some muscle to be the player he can be !!
That’s Pittsburghs biggest down fall they never gave Crosby any room he has to fight claw and get injured and taken advantage of for every point or non play !!
The same will happen in Edmonton to there stars !
