As expected, the National Hockey League today announced the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through January 14, 2013.  A total of 625 regular-season games – 50.8 percent of the season – were scheduled for October 11 through January 14.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Nice of the NHL to ensure there won`t be any of their games cluttering up the sports schedule early in the New Year. Now, we hockey fans can focus more on the World Junior Hockey championships, NBA basketball, NFL playoffs and the plethora of college football bowl games. Thanks, NHL…for nothing.

Twitter quote by Dennis Leary: “If somehow the world does come to an end tomorrow can we forget about the Mayans and just blame the NHL?”

  2. Lyle says:

    Absolutely disgraceful.
No business can treat it’s paying customer like this and expect to be supported.
