TORONTO SUN: Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer is hoping for the chance to prove himself as the club’s starting goalie whenever NHL play resumes. There’s been speculation the Leafs could try to acquire Roberto Luongo from the Vancouver Canucks, something GM Brian Burke and Canucks GM Mike Gillis have repeatedly denied.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Burke has expressed confidence going into this season with Reimer as his starter. Hopefully, we’ll find out this season if he means it.

OTTAWA SUN: Senators defenseman Marc Methot so enjoyed a recent charity trek through the Northwest Territories with some of his fellow locked-out NHLers that he’d be willing to sign up for a second trek if the opportunity arose.

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Dave Stubbs has an in-depth interview with Canadiens forward Lars Eller, who is spending the lockout playing hockey in Finland.
