Alfredsson to participate in charity game in Cornwall.

OTTAWA SUN: Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson had decided to play in a charity game with some fellow locked-out NHL players at the Cornwall Civic Centre on Monday.

WINNIPEG SUN: Jets forward Antti Miettinen has signed with  HPK Hameenlinna of the Finnish Elite League, joining Jets teammate Eric Fehr, who is currently playing for the club.

OTTAWA SUN: Vancouver Canucks center Manny Malhotra dismisses the notion NHL players aren’t willing to negotiate with the league. ”If we had no desire to get back to the games, we’d be on vacation somewhere stuffing our faces rather than skating and working out every day,” Malhotra told the Vancouver Sun. “To say that guys don’t want to negotiate and get things done would be a wrong statement.”

EDMONTON JOURNAL: Bruce McCurdy provides a quick update of Oilers players in Europe. Sam Gagner, Ales Hemsky and 2012 first overall pick Nail Yakupov are among the Oilers playing their craft overseas during the NHL lockout.
