TORONTO SUN: Montreal Canadiens forward Scott Gomez was cut by the ECHL’s Alaska Aces, but he had no intention of playing with them anyway, as he’d only been skating with them in practice. 

Iginla among Flames disappointed over cancelled home opener.

CALGARY HERALD: Jarome Iginla, Mark Giordano and Cory Sarich talked about their frustration over the lockout killing the start of this season. The Flames were scheduled to open the season on October 11 against the Vancouver Canucks.
