Hall cleared for contact with Oilers farm team.

EDMONTON SUN: Oilers left wing Taylor Hall was recently cleared for contact drills with the Oilers farm team in Oklahoma City. He won’t be cleared to play, however, until the club completes its current five-game homestand.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: David Staples predicts Oilers owner Daryl Katz and the Edmonton city council will have a new arena deal in place by next February.

CANOE.CA: Don Meehan, agent for Montreal Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov, denies his client might remain in the KHL once the NHL lockout has ended.

VANCOUVER SUN: Canucks forward Chris Higgins remains perplexed over why the NHL rejected the NHLPA’s three latest CBA proposals.
