Gorges unimpressed with NHL’s latest tactic.

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Canadiens defenseman Josh Gorges and winger Erik Cole (the Habs two player reps) weren’t impressed by the league’s recent attempt to do an end-run around the NHLPA leadership by allowing the GMs a brief window to speak to the players regarding the league’s latest CBA proposal. Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin didn’t avail himself of the opportunity.

VANCOUVER PROVINCE/TORONTO SUN: Canucks goalie Cory Schneider and Maple Leafs winger James van Riemsdyk are giving consideration to playing in Europe if the NHL lockout continues with no end in sight.

WINNIPEG FREE PRESS: Jets captain Andrew Ladd expressed some optimism over a potential CBA resolution.
