NORTHJERSEY.COM: Travis Zajac tallied his first career hat trick as the New Jersey Devils pulled away from the Florida Panthers with a 6-3 victory.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Wild’s win widened their lead over the Phoenix Coyotes by five points and six over the Dallas Stars. The Devils moved to within three points of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the final wild card berth in the Eastern Conference. 

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: The Blackhawks are hoping captain Jonathan Toews (left arm) won’t be sidelined for long. Toews was injured during Sunday’s Blackhawks-Pittsburgh Penguins game when he was checked by Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik, who won’t received supplemental discipline for the hit.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: To me it appeared a clean hit. I’m sure others will disagree. 

DENVER POST: Colorado Avalanche star Matt Duchene will be sidelined for four weeks with an injured left knee (MCL).

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Duchene will miss the opening round of the playoffs, a significant blow for the Avalanche. 

PHILLY.COM: Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen (upper-body injury) will miss tonight’s game against the St. Louis Blues.

THE BUFFALO NEWS: The Sabres yesterday announced the signing of coach Ted Nolan to a three-year contract.

NEW YORK POST: NY Islanders owner Charles Wang is in talks to sell the club to “Philadelphia lawyer Andrew Barroway for $225 million, plus another $75 million if the Islanders hit certain revenue targets.”

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Wang last week acknowledged he was willing to listen to offers but denied he was in talks with anyone to sell the club.

    Yes he will be missed, but he was injured on the first shift of the game and the Avs still defeated the Sharks. PAP will be back soon and the Hawks have their own injuries to deal with….Things still look OK for the Avs
