NJ.COM: Martin Brodeur earned his 688th career victory and a lengthy post-game ovation in what could be his final game with the Devils, backstopping them to a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins. As for Devils coach Pete DeBoer, GM Lou Lamoriello said he’s under contract for next season and will return next season.  Jaromir Jagr, meanwhile, passed Gordie Howe for eighth on the all-time assists lead.

LOS ANGELES TIMES: Ducks legends Teemu Selanne and J.S. Giguere celebrated their final NHL regular season game following the Ducks 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche with a post-game skate. Giguere won the Conn Smythe trophy in 2003 and a Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Ducks, and remains their franchise leader in wins (206). Both are expected to retire after this season.

DETROIT FREE PRESS: The Red Wings closed out their regular season with a 3-0 shutout of the slumping St. Louis Blues.

NEWSOBSERVER.COM: The Carolina Hurricanes finished their miserable season on a high note with a 6-5 win over the playoff-bound Philadelphia Flyers.

TWINCITIES.COM: The Minnesota Wild dropped their final game of the season 7-5 to the Nashville Predators.

ARIZONA REPUBLIC: The Phoenix Coyotes end their disappointing season with a 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars.

NEWSDAY: The NY Islanders ended their otherwise lousy season on a high note, edging the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 in a shootout to close the season with three straight wins.

NBC SPORTS: The NHL has fined Florida Panthers defenseman Ed Jovanovski $5,000.00 for elbowing Columbus Blue Jackets forward Corey Tropp.
