LOS ANGELES TIMES: The Anaheim Ducks will retire Teemu Selanne’s number 8 jersey in a ceremony on January 11 against the Winnipeg Jets.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: A fitting honor for one of the greatest players in Ducks – and NHL – history. 

CSNPHILLY.COM: The Philadelphia Flyers will induct Eric Lindros, John LeClair and Eric Desjardins into their Hall of Fame.

CSNNE.COM: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug (and teammate Reilly Smith) have no leverage to command a larger deal, but Krug could one day receive a Jake Gardiner-type contract.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: For now, Krug and Smith will have to accept short-term contracts from the Bruins. 

TWINCITIES.COM: The Minnesota Wild signed defenseman Justin Falk to a one-year, two-way contract.

DETROIT NEWS: The Red Wings’ annual HockeyFest set for September 14 at the Joe Louis Arena.
