MIAMI HERALD: Tomas Kopecky scored in the tenth round of the shootout to lift the Florida Panthers to a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals. It was the Panthers second straight win and their fourth in five games.
PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE: Marc-Andre Fleury made 37 saves backstopping the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils, marking Fleury’s league-leading 18th win of the season.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Fleury’s strong performance this season continues to silence critics who in recent years had cast doubt upon his ability as an NHL starter.
BOSTON HERALD: Bruins forward Shawn Thornton’s suspension for his attack on Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik is expected today.
STLTODAY.COM: Despite the Blues strong performance this season, attendance is down at the Scottrade Center, creating concern for team president Bruce Affleck. He warns of the possibility of losing more this season than the $3 million they reportedly lost last season.
