LOS ANGELES TIMES: Jonas Hiller made 36 saves backstopping the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings, handing the latter their fifth straight loss.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Praise to NHL ice guru Dan Craig, as the ice held up very well under game conditions in the warm California evening.

BOSTON HERALD: Jarome Iginla had a four-point performance (including two goals) as the Boston Bruins humiliated the Philadelphia Flyers 6-1.

STAR-TELEGRAM: Sergei Gonchar, Jamie Benn and Rich Peverley were the goalscorers and Kari Lehtonen made 24 stops as the Dallas Stars blanked the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0.

TBO.COM: Rookie Tyler Johnson tallied his first career NHL hat trick as the Tampa Bay Lightning downed the Colorado Avalanche 5-2.

STLTODAY.COM: Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice, T.J. Oshie scored the game-tying goal and Kevin Shattenkirk got the winner as the St. Louis Blues beat the NY Islanders in a shootout 4-3.  The Islanders appeared to win in overtime but a controversial review overturned Thomas Vanek’s goal.

MERCURYNEWS.COM: Joe Thornton scored twice (one of them in overtime) and Patrick Marleau also tallied as the San Jose Sharks defeated the Minnesota Wild 3-2.

BUFFALO NEWS: Ryan Miller made 36 saves and Christian Ehrhoff had a three-point performance as the Buffalo Sabres beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-2, snapping the latter’s eight-game winning streak.
