CSNCHICAGO.COM: Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has begun mulling his options for new ‘Hawks center Brad Richards. One could be having him center a line with Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad.

NEW YORK POST: Larry Brooks reports contract negotiations between the Rangers and RFAs Mats Zuccarello, Derick Brassard and Chris Kreider are ongoing.  The trio filed for salary arbitration.  It’s believed Zuccarello seeks a multi-year deal at $4.5 million per season, while Brassard is believed seeking a long-term contract worth $5.5 million annually.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Re-signing Zuccarello and Brassard won’t be cheap, but the Rangers will have to pay if they want to keep the duo away from arbitration. 

PHILLY.COM: Hockey analyst Jeremy Roenick doesn’t believe Steve Mason is the goalie to carry the Flyers to the Stanley Cup.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Maybe not, but he’s better than most of the goalies the Flyers have had in recent years. 

DETROIT NEWS: Recently re-signed Daniel Cleary is motivated to prove his critics wrong.

STARTRIBUNE.COM: The Minnesota Wild re-signed goalie John Curry and won’t re-sign Nate Prosser.
