NHL.COM: The Tampa Bay Lightning yesterday exercised a compliance on forward Ryan Malone.

NBC  SPORTS:  The Lightning also re-signed forward J.T. Brown to a two-year deal worth $1.9 million.

TRIBLIVE.COM: The Pittsburgh Penguins yesterday introduced former Portland Winterhawks coach Mike Johnston as their new head coach. The club also hired former NHL player and coach Rick Tocchet as an assistant coach.
